about  Cornwall Council

The Care strand of the Business Clusters project at Cornwall Council work largely under the banner of Proud to Care Cornwall. Proud to Care is a South-West initiative which aims to raise the profile of careers in social care and increase recruitment and retention across the sector. This includes developing and promoting training and career progression opportunities as well as access to wellbeing and support resources.

We are keen to engage with local SME adult social care provider businesses to trial new and innovative ways to attract people with the right skills and values to careers in social care. Some of our recent projects include working with local schools and colleges to educate students about the various roles in social care and where they fit within the wider health and care system, supporting small businesses to have an online presence where they can promote themselves as employers and their current vacancies, and attending various career events.

Our Proud to Care Cornwall website, which was redesigned based on feedback from the sector, is a key element of our support to adult social care provider businesses in Cornwall. It provides relevant information to support the development of their workforce including the ability to advertise their vacancies for free and to receive applications and enquiries direct through the website.
